Villa Roncovisi is an elegant villa from the 18th century that has been restored into a high quality holiday home. It is ideally positioned in the countryside just a short distance from Monsummano Terme and Montecatini Terme, two towns famous for their thermal baths. Also within easy reach are many of the historical towns of Tuscany such as Florence, Pisa and Lucca.
The private villa has large pretty grounds which also include woodlands and olive groves. In the garden there is a shady pergola with table for outdoor dining and on a lower level a large pool with hydro massage.
The 7 bedroom villa has beautiful views from all its windows due to its hill side position. It is furnished to a high standard with many antiques, original paintings and Persian carpets. All modern comforts, including air-conditioning, are provided.
The ground floor of the villa is composed of two fully equipped kitchens which include fridge/freezer, oven, gas hobs, microwave and dishwasher. In the larger of the two kitchens there is also a pizza oven and a dining table for 8. There are two separate dining areas, one seats 6 and the other has a beautiful wooden table that seats 14.
Also on this floor there are two comfortable lounges both with fireplaces. On one side of the ground floor there is a TV room with a double sofa bed and Sat TV, this room leads into the billiard room. This floor is completed with two bathrooms both with Jacuzzi shower and a small laundry.
From one side of the ground floor stairs lead to a twin room, which has access to one of the downstairs bathrooms. The first floor is divided into two parts, both with three bedrooms.
Four of the bedrooms are doubles and each have an en-suite bathroom. One of the bathrooms has a hydro massage tub while the other bathrooms all have Jacuzzi showers. In one of the double bedrooms there is a mezzanine floor which has a single bed. The fifth bedroom is with a single bed and the sixth is a triple room with three single beds, these two rooms share a bathroom with a Jacuzzi tub and shower.
The windows all have mosquito screens.
Pets are not allowed.
The owner and his wife live close by in a separate villa with their own garden, pool and parking. They are available to provide you with information about the area or any other help should you require it. Villa Roncovisi is independently accessed and does not share any space with owners.
Availability in this villa needs to be confirmed with the owner before completing a booking.

Pool Info
The pool is exclusive to the guests of Villa Roncovisi. It is situated on a natural terrace a few metres below the villa level and has a wide view of the valley below. It is surrounded by pretty lawns and olive groves. It is an infinity pool and is equipped with hydro massage, swim jets system for water treadmill and changing room with shower and WC. In and around the pool there is night lighting for evening bathing.
Around the pool is a sunbathing area with umbrellas, chairs, tables and divans. Further down to the right of the pool there is a relax area with a gazebo and chairs. To one side there is also a small children’s corner. It has a special cleaning system which insures utmost hygiene and eliminates any possible inconvenience caused by the chloride. The water is slightly saline and contains the same percentage of salt as the human eye.
The pool is 6 x 12 meters and 1.35 meters deep, it is open from mid April to mid October.

The nearest town is Monsummano Terme, which is about 2km away. This town has shops, restaurants and all other amenities. Montecatini Terme is a larger town and is about 5km away, it also has all facilities.

Highlights: Everything. We loved the property as we had a group of 16 and there was plenty of room for us all. I was married there at the villa and couldn't have asked for a more beautiful setting.
Unpleasant surprises: We had some power outages probably due to how many people we had there running multiple dishwashers/dryers etc.
The owners were extremely helpful in getting the problem resolved.

Our accommodation, which cost less than £800 for the week, is in a converted stone farmhouse next to a 12th Century Franciscan chapel. There is a pergola shaded by vines round the back here we quickly settle into a rhythm of eating long pasta suppers while the shadows lengthen.
